Lactate Threshold testing uses actual blood samples to map the accumulation of blood lactate over resting levels.
During this test, you will run or cycle approximately 40 minutes with small changes in speed or resistance, with measurements every 3-4 minutes.
Data is then plotted against starting values to determine exactly where lactate was produced and was not cleared.
For the ultra-endurance athlete this test is useful at finding data that will indicate a pace or speed which can be maintained long-term, such as during a marathon.
